In Our Own Image

On March 15th 2015, TransTech launched the In Our Own Image project with it’s first ever Trans Community Photo Day in Chicago.  Trans men & women, as well as gender non-conforming folks joined us for a day of fun and photography.  These images will be available for licensed commercial use by nonprofits, corporations, and individual bloggers!  COMING SOON!

Project Description

When it comes to stock images of the trans community, you will have a hard time finding images in major stock photography libraries like iStockPhoto and PhotoDune, and GettyImages can get pretty pricey.  With the photos from In Our Own Image, you can find photos that represent real people from trans and gender non conforming communities.

At the In Our Own Image photoshoot event, participants were able to have their makeup done by Jolie, a professional makeup artist who also happens to be trans and get their picture taken by Miss Ross, founding CEO of TransTech Social Enterprises.  Miss Ross was also joined by guest photographers who donated their time and talent for this unique event!

Travel assistance in the form of CTA Transit Cards were provided for participants who needed them by the Trans Life Center at Chicago House Social Service Agency.  The even took place at and was sponsored by ICAH, the Illinois Caucus for Adolescent Health.  Participants also received digital copies of their photos for their own personal use.
